Belly up to the Bar

chicco.jpgNow Brooklyn parents needn’t worry about how to accommodate their little ones during happy hour at the bar. No more annoying non-breeders with your ungainly stroller (or getting arrested when you leave baby and stroller parked outside while you catch a cocktail). Just bring along the Chicco Caddy Hook On Chair ($34.99) and pop your baby on the side of the bar. Problem solved! It also works great at the 24-hour pancake house–there’ll be no more wondering about that brown goo on the ancient wooden highchair.

We had one like this, but it had less of an extension underneath, so it could easily attach to any table. We even attached it to a bar once (we are bad parents). It was the "metoo" chair, which is now owned by Phil and Ted's:

It's a little more expensive at $50, but we really liked it. Have I mentioned that it folds up flat and weighs almost nothing?

Thanks Jen! I saw that one on Amazon, but opted to post the cheaper one just because, well, it was cheaper. I can't say if it's as good or not - though the Chicco did get decent reviews. I didn't use on of these myself, so any personal reviews are much appreciated. I'm wondering how adjustable those extensions are underneath.

We didn't have that exact one, but that type of chair is nice to have. My grandma kept one at her house - it was easier to store than a high chair and we didn't have to lug around even more crap when we came over to her house. The one you posted looks sturdier than the one I had for not much more money. Nice shopping!

My friend had one with extensions underneath. I'm not sure which brand. But, they were fairly immobile. There were definitively times when she was jealous of mine... like that time at the bar.
