From the backseat of the car this morning, I hear what I think is the Bean spitting. He's got his hand over his mouth and he's making weird sounds. I have no idea what he's doing until I hear him say, "Now you practice at home. I'll see you next time. Bye bye."
And I realize, he's doing this:
I thought that after this election was over that it would be the end of me arguing with people with different ideologies. But sadly, that is not the case.
A few weeks ago, when Mombian urged bloggers to contribute to Write to Marry day, I used the small voice I have on the internet to add my thoughts. Writing that post got me really fired up and as a result, I realized how imporant the issue of same-sex marriage is to me. I believe that this is a really good thing. But it has led to two problems.
The first problem is that we lost. The vote was in favor of Prop 8. Like many others, this news sits heavy on my chest and my heart. The second problem is that because the internet allows me to read and be read by many people, I've come in contact with people who are in direct opposition to the way I feel about this issue. And I cannot stop myself from debating with them.
To me this is very different than Republican vs. Democrat. I very much try to live by the principal that people need to believe how they are going to believe. But I find myself spending a lot of time arguing with people who are all in favor of suppressing other's human rights. I try to attack this as not a religuous or political issue, but a human rights issue--which it very much is.
But it's exhausting. The people I'm running up against are so stubborn and they are so misinformed that it makes my head spin.
Yet, I can't leave it alone.

It's not news that people are up in arms about last week's South Park. I'm just really surprised why.
If you're sensitive, there's many more things to be upset about in that episode. As a Jew, I'm supposed to be upset because a cartoon had a Jewish person doing something outlandishly wrong? Then how am I supposed to feel about Joe Lieberman?
Today's entertainment headlines report that the prodcuers of AN AMERICAN CAROL claimed that they were sabotaged and that's why the movie underperformed.
On the film's official website, a notice asked those who attended the movie, "Please check your ticket. If you were in fact one of those people that were "mistakenly" sold a ticket for another movie please fill out the form below. Hold on to your ticket so we can have proof." The notice continued: "If you have noticed other irregularities with the theaters in your area please let us know in the comment section below. For instance, Rated R film rating (when in fact we are rated PG-13), posters not being up, not being listed on the marquee, image or focus problems, sound issues, etc."
I think the more plausible answer is simply that the movie is supposed to be terrible.

No...LBG and I are not having it out over the last drops of wine in the house.
For a little while, I managed to get Sprout to drink a few ounces from the bottle. We finally thought we were on the path to free LadyGeekBoy from her nursing bonds with the baby. That is until she stopped again. So now I've spent the past two mornings before I head off to work struggling to get the baby to drink from a bottle.
The lactation consultant told me that she needs to be swaddled. So I do, but after spending the night all swaddled up, she starts crying having to be put back. Sprout has a temper, so it's seconds before she's red in the face and angry. I also need to walk with her, bouncing, swinging and shushing, trying to calm her down all while trying to shove the nipple into her mouth. After a while she quiets down and accepts the bottle in her mouth, but doesn't suck. After 45 min of this, my arm starts to ache and very little milk has been drunk. Sprout decides to try to avoid the whole thing by falling asleep. Though the second I put her down, she wakes up screaming and the whole thing starts all over until I have to hand the baby off and head to the office.
It's a great way to start the morning.
