Outdoor toys for toddlers? (10 months old)

Big cheap ball ($1.50 at Target)
Plastic dump truck
Ring stacker
inflatable pool and a gallon of water?
Yeah, I think at 10 months you have the world as a choice. Even sticks you find on the ground. Balls are always a good choice. We took our about 10 month camping about 3 years ago and we had a really cheap walker we brought along as well. It was a good place to keep him up and seeing things and it also provided a great place to put things on. Plus, it had one of those bars with the beads on it. Just a thought.
if he likes fish bowl then yeah, i'd say shape sorter, but make sure at his age it's very very easy to open and just put the shapes in the open box, because he's probably way too young to do the shapes. He's in that "dump and fill" stage. In fact, you could just use an old coffee can and some large wooden blocks or something.
When I was little, they used to sell these awesome family toys at K-Mart. I think they were called lawn darts. Kids love those.
How about a pounding bench? That lets a little one work out vacation-related routine-disruption aggression while popping balls through holes or knocking pegs through holes.
And soap bubbles, assuming someone will blow them for the little one. Our daughters both loved to watch soap bubbles.
Thanks! Heading to TRU now
My MIL took my son and nephew camping around 12 months. She had a large bucket (like the kind you put ice and beer in at a BBQ). She filled that 1/4 way with water and put the boys in. That kept them occupied for hours (at different times of course). A travel version of the kiddie pool I guess.
bubbles, Otter pops, and a plastic wagon to push...hours of fun

We're going camping with our 10 month old for a few days next week. He loves his toys, so I'd like to get something that is
A) Not electronic
B) pretty rugged (waterproof, shock proof)
C) not too expensive, it could get lost or broken in the woods
Any ideas? He has an O-Ball, and that would work great. But he is currently on a fix of toys where you put blocks or balls inside something else (like the Fisher Price fish bowl)
Maybe the classic block sorter? (square, round, triangle)
Ideas?
