Running Away from Home
Replies
Depends on whether I plan on coming back or not.
Alright then...where would you go if you planned to return and where would you go if you weren't going to return....?
Don't try and put me off with a question, missy. I'm avoiding a lot of things right now and I'll stay here and procrastinate all day if I have to.
Planning to return like, that evening? Probably would run away to a bookstore, get myself a frozen coffee beverage and read their trashy magazines for free until I calmed down.
Forever? Hmm... you know, I don't think I'd want to run away forever. I'd worry too much about the dogs and cat etc, etc.
hmm.... Bali? Honestly, anywhere that wasn't here would be good. And not TOO hot but not a cold northern climate either. Frankly a lot would depend on if I would have the money and freedom to travel away from the location on a seasonal basis.
hmmm... if it were me, and i was going to come back that day, a cafe. coming back, but another day: BFF's house. do not want to be found: friend's house from school.
we are talking adult running away right? 'cause when i was a kid and i wanted to run away, i tried to line up my neighbor's dog house as a possible crash pad. no joke. :*D
For one day: A spa parlor for an impromptu massage.
Forever: Probably Portland.
For the day: the mountains
Forever: also the mountains
Still too new of a mom, though, to even consider running away. Guess I'll have to wait until the SoCalBoy is old enough to hike!
Coming back today - used bookstore with good coffee, bookstore cats and comfy chairs so I could read a chapter out of every book that I wanted to buy.
Not coming back - Key West to open a used bookstore with good coffee, bookstore cats and comfy chairs so I could read the whole thing.
I'd run away to Portland OR. It's where all my dearest, bestest friends are.
For the day I'd take my favorite book some snorkel gear and drive down to do some snorkeling off the coast of North Carolina.
For the evening- I'd run away to my favorite pub listen to music, lounge in the big leather chairs, and drink beer.
Forever- NYC
Apparently I need to go to Joe Mamma's bookstore.
I don't know where I'd go if I was never coming back. I'd need a lot of preparation to go way the hell up North and not return ;-)
Come join me forever HBD!
For the day - Bolt Fabrics on Alberta
Forever - Ya Ya's beach on Puget Sound, or Brussels.
You to MttM. Sorry, I missed that you said PDX, too!
JM - do you have the book "The Bookstore Cat", for the kids?
that should be "too" not to! I hate it when I do that!
For the day, I'd go to a cafe or a bookstore with a cafe, and free wi fi.
For a few days, I'd go to a nice hotel near a beach and take a stack of books.
Forever, I'd go to Paris.
ks - hmmm, free wifi is good, but I'm going to insist on free refills on the drip coffee.
I don't drink coffee, so that's not really an issue for me. Free refills of herbal tea or hot chocolate would work though.
For the day? Six Flags Magic Mountain.
For the weekend? Vegas.
Forever...someplace tropical.
I'll keep a special stash of herbal tea just for my OS buds behind the counter - you'll just have to say Alternadad sent you.
Day- The Georgia Aquarium where I would sit all day in the jelly fish section. This would especially be true if I could keep everyone else OUT.
Forever- Puerto Rico. Hot latin guys and good food with an amazing beach and rainforest. Perks would also be that most of the island speaks English, they make fabulous alcoholic drinks, friends and family can visit without a passport.
"I'll keep a special stash of herbal tea just for my OS buds behind the counter - you'll just have to say Alternadad sent you."
Wow, sounds like a different kind of "special stash".
Now that you mention it, I'll have to have a special-special stash if Alternadad himself wonders down to Key West!
Perth. or New Zealand.
I am with ks. The bookstore is my fav spot to kill a few hours and I would love to go to a cottage on the beach somewhere warm enough to swim.
I need to get my passport soon, so I can daydream about travelling abroad. Paris sounds like a good place to land for a few years.
