Seriously, though, I did some statistical simulations and came to the conclusion that while a 4 game losing streak can happen to any team based on bad luck, teams that are top flight should not have more than 2 of these a season.

The other reason a 4 game losing streak is a problem is that it means the entire starting rotation has lost, in turn.

They were dominated at home by two of the best teams in the AL. If that was a world series preview, it wasn't pretty. The Phillies need some pitching in a big way.

Fortunately or unfortunately for me, taking my boys to a baseball game would be punishment even if our home team were the Red Sox. Funny concept though. And I hear ya, it's hard to be a Philadelphia baseball fan.

As a Met fan living in the area, I have no sympathy. I also have a very recent history of the worst baseball collapse in history and a really bad GM. I tried watching the Met game with my little one yesterday and he would have none of it.
Plus, we've got the IronPigs up here, so I can punish them for a lot less money.
