That said... I'm looking for some new recipes. A good one for vegan cookies anybody? A new way to use hard tofu? MNM has tantalized me with mentions of sweet bread in the bread maker. Any kind of veggie recipe based on beans (we're looking to cut food costs here)?

Took me a bit but I found it! Do you suppose orange extract would work instead of almond? We've still got six months until we can introduce nuts to the Smudge.

Also, facebook conversations reminded me that Hatch season is almost upon us. Anybody have favorite hatch recipes to share?

A simple chile recipe. I call it chile pesto, but that's probably not accurate enough. Anyhow

Finally chop roasted green chiles (heat level up to you) and mix with sea salt, olive oil and fresh garlic to taste. Use on sandwiches, burgers, eggs, toast - whatever. It's yummy.

mcglory - the orange extract would not work...there is a particular quality of flavor to the almond that the orange can't duplicate. But the almond extract is not necessary for the recipe - it will still taste good without it.
