Well if you're going to limit your shots of tequila you can now start to drink REALLY GOOD tequila. One shot of expensive tequila is better than 10 shots of crappy! Right? Right?

Yeah, I'm with MNM, I'm impressed by three shots of tequila. That would have me sick for days.

I joined thursday night's party late - sometime around midnight PST- and i took 5 shots of Patron Anejo. I didn't start out planning to drink 5, but the bottle had been opened at a previous party and was almost empty. So I took one, and then another, then I saw it was REALLY almost empty and didn't want to put it back in the bar like that, so I rationalized it was better if I just killed it.

I don't usually drink tequila and now I remember why. I spent the whole day yesterday feeling sluggish because of it. I think I'll stick to Vodka from now on.

When I can drink again, I am happy to practice with you. I think Capt makes a great point, be it music lessons or drinking. Practice makes perfect.

I also think bap2 has a very important point. It has to be good tequila.

I hate tequila. After many beers one night a friend insisted on tequila. I said, "No it will make be puke." He insisted. And insisted. And insisted. "OK, maybe it won't me sick." I had a shot. Within in 30 seconds I said, "Nope." I felt it surge back up my throat. I covered my mouth with my hand and the vomit shot out my nostrils onto his jeans. (He was sitting at the bar, I was standing next to him.) I gagged it back down, said, "Sorry" and went to the restroom and threw up again.

And continued drinking beer. (I was really young then.)

My last hangover was from staying up too late reading. Really.

How pathetic is that?

Forget tequila. Monte Alban. Mezcal. That's the ticket. I haven't had that since college. But yowza.

I've never had shots of the stuff. Sailor makes a mean margarita though. He uses Tarantula which is blue! It's crazy.

I can't handle my booze anymore. In college I could drink you under the table but now two Smirnoff Ice's and I'm out.

i used to drink tequila sunrise for a while there, after i went through my gin+tonic phase but before i discovered Absinthe. I've never had a shot of it though, nor done that lip-sip-suck thing. Tequila is not hugely common here. Neither is sake, actually, and that's a real shame. Most places carry bourbon, beer, premix bitch-piss and various wines. I had a friend from Kansas come to visit me once, asked for Rum. Goddam do you think we could find that easily O_o?

Hippy Mom- I went our for *a* beer with me good buddy/neighbor. That girl can drink. We are mug club members and it was happy hour for our 22oz mugs of beer were only $3.50. We drank 3. Should have stopped. But Noooo. We ran into another friend who lived close by so we walked over and had a shot of tequila...somehow that turned to three shots. I threw up and was in bed asleep by 11pm.

Every time I go out with this friend I find myself trying to keep up and failing. I need to just slow way down and not try to keep up. Good thing we don't go out that often, my liver can't take it.

Tequilla should be "sipped" over ice. If you can't it should be mixed with margarita mix and prepared to your desire. And it's not that good a tequilla.
