So much for natural labour....

Since my stupid uterus and cervix wont get with the program, I am scheduled for induction tomorrow morning.

On one hand, it will be very nice to be "done". I want my body back. I want to walk without waddling. I want to not have an extra 20lb weight all jutting past my normal profile. And of course, to meet the new baby, whomever he or she may be.

On the other hand, I remember syntocin/pitocin/whatever that evil evil shite is that basically puts you into a constant, never ending contraction.

I feel like I should be getting an Irish toast out of this (you know, like "May you be in heaven a half an hour before the devil knows you're dead")... but I can't think of one that applies to induced labour :-/

I don't recall hearing from the other outstanding overdue lady, so I'm going to assume that I'm the "last man standing".

Wish me luck! And if you can think of an applicable toast, please leave it here :-) I'll check tomorrow morning before calling the hospital to make sure they'll take me.

Good luck, wookie!!!!

Godspeed. May you be dilated 10cm before the nurse comes at you with the pit drip!

How's that?

Wookie, above all I wish you a healthy happy baby you can hold as soon as they are born. Good luck with all of it, and I can't wait to see the photos.

Good luck with the induction! Maybe your toast should be "May you go into labor half an hour before they start the pitocin!"

I have a nasty MacLean and MacLean one but I don't know if it's appropriate..no, I know it's not appropriate..but it ends with "Gentlemen, The Queen!"

Best of luck tomorrow - I have three inductions and nothing out of the ordinary horrible to tell (I don't tell birth stories at all so to even say that is a biggie for me)

We'll all be pulling for you ...while you're pushing...

Good Luck, Wookie! May Ixchel grant you a speedy and easy labor and birth! You're going to do great! Try to get some rest tonight!

Ok, Mommagrrl's toast is better!

DonnaKat -- great minds!

may your cervix be thin, your pushing robust, and your complaints fittingly earsplitting. go for the gold.

Wookie, from one recently recently yawing cavity to another, may you cough and have the baby fall out.

We will be waiting on the other side for photos and stories. My uterus aches for you.

May your anesthesiologist be savvy and the epidural be timely!

Good luck!

I'm terrible at toasts, so a simple good luck from me!

I'm terrible with toasts, so I'll just say good luck!

To Wookie - May your labor be quick, your recovery full of splendor, and one day soon may your profile be slender!

Good luck Wookie! May it be over before you know it!

wookie - I suck at toasts as well. But I hope everything goes well, and that you have an easy labor, and a beautiful baby to share with us!

Good luck! It'll be great and we can't wait to see photos!! And here's to you going into labor tonight! Gan bei (Cheers, or "dry the cup" in Chinese)!

Good luck, wookie!

Ooh, Sadie's rhymes! I'm not that witty, so good luck! You know we'll all be expecting a live blog now:)

Good luck Wookie.

Can't wait to hear the story and see pix.

Good luck Wookie!

May you labor be speedy and your picture posting prompt

Good luck Wookie. I'll just second all the toasts above. Can't wait to hear the details and see the end result!

Good luck, may your water break and contractions start under the threat of picotin.

May the planets align to perfection, may you not give birth during an eclipse, and may your baby sleep soundly from the get-go.

P.S. The eclipse isn't till next week, so you're all set on that one at least.

hope it's as smooth and pain-reduced as possible (haha sounds like "labour-lite!") and your baby is hubby and healthy and your recovery is swift and the hospital food doesn't suck too much. :)

Good luck, wookie! May your baby arrive to a mother who didn't have to endure the everlasting contraction.

Good luck wookie!

Good luck wookie!

Best of luck, Wookie! Hope it's speedy and easy and everyone is doing well by dinnertime!

Good luck Wookie!

Good luck Wookie!!!!!!

Good luck!

Wookie: May you have a quickie with your husband and the prostoglandins get things moving.

There, a doubly-good toast!

Good luck, Wookie. I got stuck with the pit, too, and while it definitely wasn't part of my plan it did bring an end to 29 hours of unproductive early labor. The kid just zipped right out after that. And once you've got that baby in your arms you just forget about anything and everything else. Channel that new baby smell!

Good Luck- I hope you have a beautiful birth and are holding your new little one soon!

Good luck! And since you're most likely in it right now--I hope it's going well and that you have no pain.

Yeah... this comment is a bit too late, but I had a pitocin drip last month and in spite of that, I had a pretty quick (but not pain-free!) natural birth. All in all, being induced wasn't so bad.

/I can say this now with a healthy distance!
