I went to Joanne Fabric this weekend to find a pattern for a Star Wars costume for my son for Halloween. They didn't have anything even close to resembling a Star Wars costume. My son is obsessed with Star Wars and so he must be Luke Skywalker for Halloween. I know it would be easier to just go out and buy one of the generic costumes that you can get at any department store around Halloween, but I have seen those costumes and I find them really cheesy looking. I know there were patterns for Star Wars costumes at one time because my mom made us all Star Wars costumes back when I was 9 or 10 yrs. old. I was an ewok, but alas my mom gave them away years ago. Can anyone help a mama out?

Have you tried the Alchemy section on Etsy? You can request certain things (like patterns or the costumes) and people will place bids on them sort of like contractors for crafty stuff.

I've got a store on this site and I love it. So I'll readily sing it's praises til everyone's sick of hearing about it.

i've seen them in regular patterns catalogues under "costumes" - certainly they have jedi outfits (tres cool, i nearly made one for just hanging out in, cos they're sort of like a karate Gi but... like... beige. Lounge-Gi.)

And i remember in the local Spotlight (fabrics/notions store etc) not too long ago, overhearing a mother with her kid, asking the sales lady "Can you help us? Does Darth Vadar's cape go all the way to the ground, or just past the knees?" I was so impressed i phoned DaD from the store to tell him.

i just found a stack of them on eBay...

So are you going for the karate white coat and pant look or the orange flight suit?
