Mommy bodies

Yep, they wreak some serious havoc on us.
Wow. I'd be emailing her to say "thank you" if her contact link worked.
Thanks, LG!
I've been addicted to this site since I was pregnant. It really helped me with body image issues around pregnancy, illness, and having a huge scar down my belly.
i was just thinking about this pregnancy/body image thing this morning. i realized i'd been really stressed out about getting my body "back" to how it was before i was pregnant. but i'm not sure i want it to go back that way- the ring around my middle is a daily reminder of how hard i worked to create and gestate the little man, and that no matter what, i'll always be his mama. exercise has been really helpful for me in combating PPD, but i think i'm ready to start letting go of exercising to change my body. i never want to forget where my boy came from, and how proud of myself i am for being his parent.
I don't really mind the stretch marks and even some pouchy pouch, but having to buy new clothes for work sucks. And I agree, exercise in and of itself feels great. But, I do hope to gain more out by hopefully regaining my post-first pregnancy shape. I'd settle for that.
After having both my boys I was in pretty decent shape. Sure I had the stretch marks and the saggy boob but I didn't gain weight with them. Then last year I got pretty sick with Hypothyroid and PCOS and gained a lot of weight. I wish it were from being a mom and being pregnant but I've got some body image issues from those instead. They are pretty sucky and I didn't even get a kid out of that roughly 9 months of sickness.
Thanks for the website, though it only made me feel worse about my body, because the twins-related pics were from women whose bodies are apparently made of rubber.
I am finally at the point where I feel comfortable clothed but my belly looks like something out of a horror film.
LG, I completely understand. I would love to have my post N body back instead of the post A body that I have now. But I could live with not having my bony pre-N body.
