We must be doing something right

So I had a proud parenting moment this weekend. 1st Kid and I were in the check-out line at Michael's when a family with a handicapped baby (he had a trach tube and sever facial deformation) in a stroller got in line behind us. 1st Kid turned around and loudly said "Mom, it's a baby" and I held my breath waiting for what he'd say next. The he continued on "He's so cute. Hi baby!" and then he told the lady pushing the stroller her baby was adorable (I have no idea where he's getting these descriptive adjectives).

Everyone with in earshot just beamed at him and the cashier complimented me on having such a nice young man. I could not wait to get home and tell The Companion that yes were indeed doing something right.

Great parenting and a cool kid for sure! As the parent of 2 kids who use wheelchairs I wish we ran into more kids like yours!

waah! so sweet! my mom coaches special olympics and has since before i was born, so i was raised with a lot of kids with special needs (usually very obvious ones). it means a lot to me when families work to make their kids as open and understanding as yours. thanks.
