A family of sicks

Ugh. Somehow I never seem to get the stomach bugs that DaddyWho and GirlWho get - DaddyWho gets so ill from them that he sometimes needs IV fluids. So I play nurse. It's exhausting enough when I'm well - I'd be a wreck trying to care for a sick little one when I'm sick myself.
Once when DW was out of town for work, I got a really rough case of the flu. GirlWho was 2. I ended up going to my grandma's house and passing out for about 10 hours, hoping she wouldn't let my child eat the dog food. Grandma's idea of toddler-safe and mine are worlds apart, but I didn't care. I was no good for any supervision.
I hope everyone gets well soon!
I have the overwhelming urge to spray lysol after reading this...
Oh and I totally laughed out loud in my office about your husband. Why do I find poop so funny?
Glad to hear the weird house is on the mend.
Glad to hear you guys are getting better, but as we went through this a few weeks ago, I'm typing this in my hazmat suit. I saw things that no person should ever see. *shudder* Stomach bugs suuuuuuuck.
I'm glad you guys are feeling better. Having one family member sick is bad, but when both kids are and then I am it's a total disaster.
AlphaGeek rarely gets sick, but when he does, it's just as bad as if both kids are sick. He acts like he's dying. Meanwhile, even though I can't hear out of either ear, have a pounding sinus infection, and am going through Kleenex like there's no tomorrow, I'm still making dinner and doing laundry.
MNM - that's why I set the bar so low. If I cook and clean while I'm sick, it's a frickin' miracle. Under-promise and over-deliver.
I'm home with a feverish but cheerful Girl, mommyweirdest, with a fire going, snuggled under blankets togather and in pajamas (which I actually had to put on after I got out of bed). I'm trying to push down the anxiety of work accumulating in my absence, and to just enjoy the moment (which is delightful).
When Ylime comes to trade roles at noon, I will be overjoyed. Handing off after 72 hours is pretty understandable.
Yeah the first time Mo was that sick we traded off sitting with him (cause anything else would have brought on the puke). I played Harvest Moon 14 hours straight pausing to change out towels loaded with baby puke.
At the time I worked at a group home for the developmentally disabled. That meant that I spent my days changing adult diapers, colostomy bags, and giving baths. A poopy baby diaper was heaven after a day of that.
Crazy - Yes, despite the fact that she has the bug, she's still pretty cheerful. We had the fire going this morning, but I too could not stop thinking about the work that I have to sit down to, which is more terrifying then puking up cinnamon toast
Oh, and after MUCH cartoon consumption over the past few days, I can honestly say I fucking HATE that Yo Gabba Gabba show.
Ugh my sympathies. Himself has just brought home the latest sore throat/stuffy nose/ headache thing. I SWEAR the next time I see a kid at our playgroup with a snotty nose (like green) I am going to let the mother/father have it! That kid should not be anywhere near public toys.
Sigh. But Craft Fair tonight!
yeah, we had the same thing a few weeks ago, all 3 of us. i learned the term "shomitting" from the good folks here at OS
I am a little nervous. Reid seems to have bounced back really quickly from her fever/green nose slime thing and will be going to school tomorrow, but CrazyLime is struggling. He was sent home today with a fever. It spike this afternoon. He is seriously congested to the point that he is unable to nurse. Not nursing causes him to shriek and freak out. We just got a call from my brother. We spent the weekend with them and they all have a nasty strep. He says his doctor warned us all to get strep tested because this strain turns into scarlet fever if left undetected. We've got a ped. appt. tomorrow and I just hope we sleep tonight. Last. Night. Sucked.
I feel your pain. I fear the day when I get wiped out sick and still have to nurse and take care of kids.

I got to experience my toddler being sick for the first time this week. Lots of puking, poo's and Disney movie watching [from all four of us..]
I feel better
She's still refusing anything but cheerios, and won't leave the couch, and my husband almost pooped himself.
Is it awful I'm GLAD I can hand her off to someone else for the afternoon because the past 72 hrs have been exhausting?
There really was no point to this, I'm just glad to be back in the real world, hi guys
