One of the most exciting things about Offsprung joining the Nabisco family is the opportunity to use the incredible reach of Nabisco to get great kids and family music out to many, many more families.
As a result, I’m proud to announce that I’m going to be the producer of Snack Songs: Music For Nabisco Families, a forthcoming CD that will compile old favorites as well as reinterpretations of well-known kids’ songs by superstars past and present. What’s on the CD?…
Well, the CD will start off with the iconic strains of Raffi’s “The More We Get Together,” re-thought for today’s hungry families. “The More We Eat Nabisco” features Raffi’s sweet voice — “The more we eat Nabisco, Nabisco, Nabisco / The more we eat Nabisco / The happier we’ll be / ‘Cuz my snacks are your snacks / And your snacks are my snacks / The more we eat Nabisco / The happier we’ll be…” (Also on the album is Raffi’s “Peanut Butter Sandwich,” which is actually an ode to the Ritz Peanut Butter Sandwich.)
Then we move to the modern-day pied piper of kids and family music, Dan Zanes, who reworks his raucous version of “All Around the Kitchen” — “All around the kitchen (eat Nabisco twice day),” Zanes sings. (Loudon Wainright doesn’t sing on this track, a la the original, but Zanes gets Jack White to join in.)
Other songs that will be featured on the CD include “Teddy Graham’s Picnic,” on which, through the miracle of modern technology, Jerry Garcia’s voice is used for a new duet with his “Not For Kids Only” partner David Grisman. “Ten Little Cookies” (Justin Roberts) is a rollicking paean to Nabisco’s innovative “100 Calorie Packs,” while Lunch Money’s “Cookie as Big as My Head” will be used in an advertising campaign later this fall for the rollout of a new Oreo “Quadruple-Stuft” cookie.
Even popular KidVid Tournament ‘08 artist Mr. Richard gets in on the action as “Cheese” gets a makeover as a tribute to Nabisco’s Cheese Nips.
The most exciting thing about this CD? You can still offer suggestions! That’s right — there are still a couple slots left on the album. What snack songs would you like to hear? Remember, there’s nothing that Nabisco can’t swing!

NO THANK YOU! I can't keep my kids' environment 100% advertising free, but I can at least keep this out of my house. I hope Nabisco paid everyone well enough.
